Most motorists know car accidents often lead to injuries. Some injuries do not appear until days later. Not all accident victims make complete or full recoveries.

Whiplash

The trauma the brain sustains in car accidents can range from mild, temporary to serious and permanent. Signs of traumatic brain injuries are not always obvious after a collision. Post-traumatic distress disorder (PTSD)
Some people experience mental trauma and extreme stress from motor vehicle collisions that interfere with their ability to function normally. PTSD is a serious mental response to a major event or trauma that causes lingering feelings of fear, stress, irritability, etc. Motor vehicle collision victims who end up with PTSD often require medical/psychological intervention.
